Lake County Planning Department
Lakeshore Regulation Update:
The Lake County Planning Department and Lake County Planning Board are beginning an update of the Lake County Lakeshore Protection Regulations. Lake County’s Lakeshore
Protection Regulations were first adopted in 1980, and updated in 1991, 1996, and 2001.
The purpose of this update is to: 1) where feasible, improve consistency between Lake County’s regulations and the regulations of Flathead County and the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes; and 2) clarify existing language and better address certain items as needed.
The update process will include informal work sessions with the Lake County Planning Board through summer and fall of 2010, followed by formal public hearings on the adoption of any
proposed changes.
