Environmental Health is the aspect of public health that addresses the interaction between human health and the environment. Our health is affected by the quality of air, land, food and water resources. Maintaining and improving public health by managing those environmental factors that affect health is the goal of this department.

“Public water supply system” refers to a system for the provision of water for human consumption from any community well, water hauler for cisterns, water bottling plants, water dispenser, or other water supply that has at least 15 service connections or that regularly serves at least 25 persons daily for a period of at least 60 days in a calendar year.
There are three types of public water supplies:
Community Water System
A public water supply system which serves at least 15 service connections used by year-round residents or that regularly serves at least 25 year-round residents.
Transient non-community water system
A public water supply system that is not a community water system and that does not regularly serve at least 25of the same persons for at least 6 months a year. This system primarily serves a transient population (i.e. cafes, bars, campgrounds, motels, etc.).
Non-Transient Non-Community Water System
A public water supply system that is not a community a water system and that regularly serves at least 25 of the same persons over six months per year (i.e. separate systems serving workers and schools).
