Public accommodations are licensed by the State of Montana and
include hotels, motels, bed and breakfast facilities, and vacation
rentals. This program is administered by county environmental health
departments. The goal of the program is to ensure clean and safe
accommodations for our state visitors.
In addition to general cleanliness, accommodations are reviewed
prior to licensing for safe water systems, adequate wastewater
systems, and fire safety. Local zoning regulations may restrict
public accommodations in some areas or require Conditional Use
Permits. See the contact number below for the Lake County Planning
Department.
